and then as if the night before wasn't rather awkward, here's senri. he'll show up wearing the sukajan that he was given, because it's new, and therefore he loves it. he'll skip around looking for sasuke once he's finished up his godly audiences for the day, and he really does nearly just walk right past the lab
until he sees him in it and wanders in]
Eh...? I didn't think this would be your haunt of choice.
[Someone else is also still wearing their sukajan. Hm.
The voice startles him enough a lick of electricity pops up from what he's doing at one of the benches. He hisses and turns to look over his arm and shoulder back toward the door. Senri.]
[There's no way he can hide it, so he just... let's Senri look over his shoulder. There's a cloth on the bench and, in the middle, rests an uchigatana from the armory. Surrounding that are wires and batteries and anything else he could get a hold of to try to make
electricity.
Most of it is gathered near the blade itself. The hilt has been wrapped over and over with rubber tape.]
[Sasuke sighs, but nothing else happens because he doesn't bother touching the sword or the wires.]
I can use chidori with bukijutsu, giving me an advantage. But without it here... I wanted something for Thursday in case anything happened. Even with what I had last time, I almost died.
[He frowns back at Senri for a moment or two, and then he turns to continue messing with the sword.]
You’ll be able to do it. You gave them a play, and you’re talking to them. It’s possible no one will even be killed. You might not lose any numbers. If you do, any zero gods won’t suffer if this is the final week.
[Sasuke literally just used up his last optimism on Senri. There’s no more. It’s gone.] Doubtful. My village has had five Hokages. This doesn’t include the Kages of the other ninja villages in other lands.
All of us have always been at war. With other villages, with each other as clans.
Unless someone focused on balance and peace, someone with experience with it, wins... their world isn’t going to be any better than the one I’m trying to change.
Being friends means nothing. You have proof of that here. Even with yourself. [It’s... a little rude and a bit snapped. The wire he pushes down touches the metal of the sword and sizzles, reflected in his dark eye. His brows furrow.
He can’t have all these wires in the way... It needs to be more simple. Damn... Why did Ray have to be killed? He could have used the help.] Being friends doesn’t keep a world from being ruined by someone who doesn’t know how to lead it.
I don’t have any sympathy for her. If Sean isn’t winning, then it should be Piety or Love. Any moron should be able to see that. But no one has bothered to care about any god but their own.
[he actually doesn't entirely know what sasuke is talking about? senri's pretty content with his friendships. he has good taste in friends, unlike some people with shitty bowlcuts (read: yu).]
I forgot how strongly you feel about this...
[it's been a while, they've had personal stuff going on]
[His fingers and hands slow and then stop. He doesn’t look over at Senri; his eye stays on the blade of the sword. But it’s obvious he’s thinking.]
I don’t know if that’s possible.
[It may not be, yet... he hadn’t thought about it. Not after thinking how disappointed Sean must be in him still even now, even after forgiveness. The center of his chest still aches where Sean had pushed him.]
He’ll be okay even if it isn’t. I won’t forget him.
... of course you won't, but he'd be mad if I let you come visit me without mentioning that you need to see him too.
[and that manages to get senri to smile fondly - he loves their baby. he also thinks that the amount of affection that sasuke has for sean is incredibly soft, and it makes him happy]
He loves you, stupid. So make sure you think about it, and give it a shot at least once. You'll be the only one between the two of us that'd be able to give him hugs.
[Again, he fiddles with the sword and the wires, the battery, the other pieces. Some of it, he discards off on the bench. Others, he brings over, puts them away. Tries again.]
The rinnegan merely opens a portal. More than one person can potentially go through, more than just me. Stabilizing it will just cost more chakra.
[He pauses long enough to reach up and rub the tips of his fingers tiredly over the socket of his good eye while he thinks.]
It gives me access to the Six Paths. Deva, Asura, Human, Animal, Preta, Naraka, and an additional path, Outer. The last path...
