[It's been... a long time since Sasuke has done anything not related to training or fighting. Years, actually. When he defected from Team 7 and left Konoha... it was nothing but training, sometimes verging on self torture, to be stronger, to be able to fight Itachi. And, after, it went from Itachi to war, to a battle with a god, to finally a coming battle with Naruto. He had done nothing but fight.
He wasn't a kid like he had been before, doing silly low-rank missions with Naruto, and Sakura, and Kakashi.
But here, he thinks he can remember... What it felt like to be standing at the edge of freedom and normalcy, before Itachi put the drive back in him with a single taunt and a month-long genjutsu. The growing warmth in his core, realizing he had friends, people who depended on him and who he depended on, too.
The amusement on his face has faded into something terribly, awfully lonely, something longing. He's a little jealous of Senri, too. Even being able to pretend to be happy is worth it, right?
His hands disappear into the pockets of the jacket, taking the golden ring with it. He moves by Senri as if he's continuing on, but he isn't looking at any of the mirrors.]
