[After a moment, Sasuke moves in, slow, but he doesn't go to sit down. He comes up beside Senri to stop.

His fingers and then his hand find the back of Senri's neck, curl around it. The other hand reaches out to try to push Senri's away from the cabinet, to stop him from digging uselessly in it for a distraction.

He's here.]

[senri pauses at that -

and frowns]

... my nerves need it....

[he's still

faintly trembling, like all the anxiety he was trying to bottle up wiggled to the surface]

Valerian.

[The calloused hand rubs Senri's neck for a moment before sliding away.] Senri. [He doesn't have to ask, Are you okay? He knows Senri isn't. He knows Senri hasn't been for a while, maybe since even the very first trial.]

We did what we could.

[sasuke might pull his hand back but

senri follows, pressing his face into his collarbone]

[Sasuke sighs, maybe frustratedly, maybe tiredly. In a moment or two, his arms rise to loop around Senri's shoulders.]

We'll find them. We found Connor. You're always good at getting people to talk. [He frowns.] I know you're angry about Ray.

... I'm never fast enough.

[and his fingers might curl into sasuke's shirt to hold him in place as he sighs]

And even if I can get people to talk, I can't do anything to save people before they get hurt.

[he trails off, blinking furiously to ward off tears]

You won't be able to stop people from being hurt in this game. [It's not delivered harshly even if the words are harshly logical.] The only issue with being killed is not having a wish granted. Senri.

[there's the shuddering in his shoulders, and the sound of his throat choking up again]

[Frowning again, he reaches up to rest a hand on the back of Senri's head.] I don't need my wish. I'd use it to give them theirs if I could, but...

I doubt Justice is going to win, and I won't leave him at the end. If he does win... I can see if there's a way to ask for something like that.

I'm taking Ray-kun's as my own.

[and he breathes out when he mentions that]

If the right god wins, they can grant smaller wishes to people even not on their team so....

Sasuke leans back just enough to force Senri to look him in the face.] Why...? Your wish was so important to you.

I don't understand. Don't give it up.

[senri's expression softens at that - ]

... if Taka and I graduate at the top of our class in three years, I'll have all the resources I need to make my wish come true.

I don't... need to rely on gods.

I'd rather make sure Ray-kun is taken care of, after all he's done for us.

Hh... [His expression is strange in a way that's almost unreadable, but it's soft regardless. In a way, maybe he looks a little fond?] You think I'm going to praise you?

sighs as he leans against sasuke, exhausted as if he's been carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders for oh about five weeks]

... why would I ever want to copy someone so uncool....

[Admittedly, Sasuke leans a little back, equally as exhausted. He's been exhausted since week one when his brother kicked it!!! But... whatever, this is fine.]

Tea with valerian in it is what you want. It'll help you sleep. It's a sedative herb.

[His arms tighten. It isn’t enough to squeeze uncomfortably, or even really squeeze at all. A shift of the muscles in his arms and his shoulders. He didn’t know anyone hardly except Ray. And Ray was enough.

You need to tell me wherever you defect to.

Please try to get a favor from Bambi, so we can put hints together about what happened to Ray-kun before the new trial.

And... if you were convinced by Piety, help me encourage more people to talk to him.

Those... are my new plans for the week. They're really basic, and nothing like what Ray-kun can do but.... I'm going to get there.
