Piety was the one who thought that they should involve third party people in order to try to figure out how to decide the head of the pantheon.
Ruin sort of ran away with the idea, and it turned into this competition where people end up dying.
Ambition, Cunning, and Disorder backed the idea. Indulgence agreed too, but if you've ever met him... it's easy to believe that he just didn't think it through. Justice was threatened into agreement.
The other gods - leaving Piety, Beauty, Sincerity, Love, Merriment, and Fortune - voted against it.
Patience was the tie breaker - and that's how we ended up here, playing like this. The six gods that disagreed could've abstained from playing too.... but if they did, then only the six that were for it would've been the only ones we could've picked from.

I don't know what to do with the information yet - so far I've just been spreading it, and seeing what other people think...

I've been trying to find out how they got their powers. Who brought them into this situation... but I was told it was a "what," not a "who." [ His mouth thins into a line. ] I'd hoped to find a way to stop the contest, but instead I ran into a dead end.
[ A breath in, out. His eyes narrow a little, the look on his face slightly troubled. ]
... what we need to decide is what our ideal scenario would be. If we had all the information we needed, what would we want to do with it? If we can work together and decide what we want the outcome to look like ... we should be able to figure out what to do next.
You and me both.... There's no way to consolidate the gods into smaller factions - like all the nice gods who have similar worlds - so that it'd be easier to convince people to join their side. I've already asked....

.... some people are really virtuous here, you know? They want to try to find the best possible god to rule, and then make sure that god is the one who wins. No matter how nice someone is... they want to find the best leader and try to get everyone to join them.
