[ it's the first thing that actually makes taka relax a little. he sighs, allowing himself to get closer and wrapping one arm around senri.

it's strange, because objectively this wasn't the worst fight they've ever had. but it still hurt like it was. he supposed that's what it means when you put your heart into someone else's hands; you have to hope they don't squeeze it too hard. ]

I will. I'll always be here for you.

[whether that means he has to endure some lies, or if things get a little bit rocky. he buries his face in taka's hair and holds him close, happy just to have this boy back in his arms. the night away was good to cool down, as always, but he's still more grateful to be able to come back here. where he's supposed to be.]

[senri hums happily with the kiss he gets in return and settles for burying his face in taka's hair again, even though it means he probably ends up speaking fairly close to his ear - ]

He and I are using Battle Armor on you and Ishirin-san this week, so please be careful. Ray-kun said he didn't want it which is... annoying.

Ray has our prize from capture the flag. And it seems like people gave him a lot of their prizes, so... he's definitely protected.

[ how ray managed to get so many people to fling dangerous items at him is fairly impressive. ]

I'm really glad that people realize we'd be really out of luck if something happened to him....

[ there's a pause, and he lets his hand trace circles on senri's back ]

[senri will just idly press closer to taka then, shifting so that he can tuck his face into the crook of taka's neck]

... he's really good.

I meant it when I said that I don't blame you, if you have to do what you can to keep his trust. I don't think he'll ask you to lie to me anymore but...

I forgive more easily than he does anyway.

[and senri sighs.]

I sort of... relied on you to always be honest with me, even if I didn't like what I'd hear.

[ever since the academy. it's part of why they don't get along - but in a world where senri is fake to 98% of the population, he sort of just enjoyed having something real]

But circumstances change... and people are allowed to make mistakes.

[ this isn't what he wants.

he doesn't want senri to think that he's just going to lie now, just because senri gives the okay. he squeezes his eyes shut and just breathes for a second. ]

I don't want to lie to you. I just... didn't think it was my place to tell you that because of your relationship with him. And if I admitted I knew who it was, you were going to get it out of me.

[usogi]

... Ray-kun was being stupid. [and he sighs] I know why he tried to keep it from me in the first place, but that lie didn't even last a day.... Sometimes he underestimates me too.

[ . . . ]

Sieg-kun was the one who told me that Ray-kun was the one who left Love. I guessed the rest from there.

[bakaomi]

Well, you're smart.

[ he glances towards the door. ]

It's not that I didn't think you'd figure it out. But I know you protect Ray a lot especially... you don't even tell me his alignment or anything. So, I figured if he didn't want to tell you just yet...

[usogi]

.... don't get me wrong, I care about Ray-kun a lot. I don't want anything to happen to him, even though I know he's a lot more capable than me.

[ . . . ]

But he's like you, where I think sharing your alignment is an easy way to lose your trust completely. [pours one out for madoka] Ray-kun makes up for a lot of my shortcomings, and vice versa. It would've been too risky to tell anyone his alignment, if there was ever a chance it could come back to him.

For a while, it was a strategic choice.

[bakaomi]

But?

[ because there is definitely a "but" there ]

.... I don't know if there is a 'but'.

We're friends now, because things have obviously changed - but there's a reason why the two of you are exceptions to the fact that I otherwise tell you both everything. I want to protect you more than anyone else. I want to keep Ray's trust more than anyone else.

[he shrugs and cuddles in closer to taka]

I've... been trying really hard to be good to you this game.

[bakaomi]

... you have.

[ he lets his hand run through senri's hair, playing with it lightly. ]

I was annoyed that people kept only talking to me if it was about you. It was like that was all I was here for a while, just someone you happened to know from home. I didn't get that from the gods though, so I ended up talking to them a lot.

[ ... ]

But that was my fault, and I'd probably be dead if it weren't for you.

[usogi]

[ . . . senri frowns.]

[he's incredibly unhappy about this???]

You're here on your own merit. You contribute a lot in trials, and always do what you can for people. That has nothing to do with me.

[bakaomi]

[ he presses a kiss to senri's forehead. ]

Don't worry about it. I think I'm figuring things out.

[he's still not pleased but.... nods quietly.]

At least... me, Ishirin-san, Ray-kun, Sasuke... We want to help you, okay?

Even though I know it's kind of hard to ask a bunch of emos to learn about opening up together...
