A bit, but-- it's as you said before. It would be a temporary thing, and even if it weren't... I would far outlive them, I am sure.
[maybe that's just something it's best to avoid in the first place, all things considered. he's already seen people grow older while he never aged, and that was with an entirely different sort of relationship.]
But don't worry about Shishimaru. I will not say anything.
Actually... I was going to ask you a question, Ishirin-san.
I... know the alignments of everyone in the game but 8 people, and I'm trying to close that gap so we don't waste time at trials with people I'm not certain of. I'm also trying to find Bambi's followers, because they keep scrambling up teams with Advancement Opportunity and it's really difficult.
So... I was wondering - could you tell me who the Piety follower is? Obviously we don't want anything to happen to them, so....
... I suppose I can. I meant to tell at least a couple of you this week-- after what happened last week, I do not want to risk leaving you without knowing.
[if it's for the sake of keeping him safe, well. ishi thinks that perhaps this can be forgiven.]
Luke. Piety and I are very certain he will remain there unless forced to defect by one of Ambition's followers.
Ah, that makes me feel much better.... That means I'm down to 7 people, 4 of which have to be Bambi's followers I don't know.
Um, Ishirin-san... If you talk to Guy-san, Alex, Catra-san, Entrapta, Estelle-chan, Hiro-kun, or Shang-san... Please let me know if they tell you their alignments. Those are the only alignments I'm missing.
I do not know most of them well, but I think... I may be able to get Guy-san's out of Luke, and Shang-san may tell me if I share as well. I am uncertain of giving him my real alignment, but I feel as if he would believe what I gave him.
Because... of everyone I know, I don't think they'd hurt anyone. I know that people are driven to more difficult things here, but... it just means that if someone gets hurt, it might be someone whose alignment I had no clue about. Luna. Newt. I was too slow. If this is an information game, then I can confidently say I'm one of the best... but I'm still not good enough.
[it's a little funny - how he doesn't say any of this during trials, but he holds it pretty deeply in his chest. this sense of responsibility]
... If I know everyone's alignments, I can try to convince them all to switch to one god in the last week, so they can get their wishes. They have to believe in the god's world for the results to count, but... I think I can be persuasive. Hopefully.
... Shang-san guards his pretty closely. Just so you know. I couldn't get him to open up to me, but... I trust you, Ishirin-san.
Nito-kun. This is not the sort of game one can play alone-- if you are too slow, then so have we been. This does not rest entirely upon your shoulders, especially with this many factors in play.
[he rests his hand on senri's shoulder, there; he knows well enough how heavy that sort of responsibility can be.]
I will do what I can. Press a little harder with who I know. And once we have done that... you are not the only one in a position to speak freely for any given god. You do not have to take that upon yourself either, though-- of course the two of us would have to agree on one first.
... maybe not, but this is what I'm good at. I can't protect people like Sasuke or Ishirin-san. I'm not smart like Ray-kun or Shishimaru. If all I can do is get people to trust me, and try to be convincing enough to help as many people as I can get their wishes...
[he sighs. he knows it's stupid - to want to wish for something so happy. but senri just as easily knows that there's no such thing as a happy ending in reality, but that doesn't mean he can't pitch the idea until his voice is hoarse.]
... Ray-kun and Shishimaru agree that Piety is the best to lead. I think that's true. Sasuke... might take a little more convincing. If I can get enough people to listen to me, we might be able to get everyone to switch to Piety in the last week. That's... what I'm currently thinking of, but I'll know better in the coming weeks once I've pitched the idea to more people.
[--he looks relieved at that, actually. he hadn't been sure whether to think senri supported one of the gods he often spoke of, but if he and the others are of the same mind as ishi... it makes everything easier. with the exception of sasuke, but that'll just be a work in progress.]
I very much hope so, though you know he has always had my support.
...I was told our time will be extended by another week should the numbers be even, so that may be an option if we cannot get others to agree-- but the trouble then is trying to organize everyone to actually do so, and it may not be a good idea to drag it out in the end. I am unsure it's something to truly consider.
You can't convince everyone to one god just for the sake of the numbers. You really have to believe in their world. So if everyone immediately swapped to Bambi to get the game to end because she's in the lead, then the results would be voided. They'd have to do this all over again with another group of people.
[and that sure sucks!]
So... I don't know if I can convince everyone to get their wishes. They'll have to choose Piety because they think it's right, and because they believe in him. But that means we have to be convincing... and I think if we can swap enough people at the end, we can leave behind a world that'll be taken care of.

[IT'S FINE!!! but he'll focus on ishi's answer - and tilt his head]
... oh.
I'm sorry Ishirin-san... I'm glad that you seem to be taking it well, but that always stings a little.

'Tis better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.
[and he'll tilt his head]
.... I hope you find happiness in whatever way that it comes to you, Ishirin-san. Or - actually, I know you will.

[he'll be happy when people stop being killed, so, you know
better to focus on his work for now.]
