Merriment said... that Luna-san acted like she didn't know that much about people's humanity, and I should be thinking about other people who acted like that. There's um, not a lot of people who aren't... human... left....
And I didn't like that! Zo cares about you, and trusts you so much!
So I just got really, really mad at myself when I thought of your name anyway.....
I didn't vote thinking of you - Newt made that easy, but.... I wanted to apologize still, for even considering it.
[There's an elongated pause. Connor stares at Senri like he's trying to figure something out, and then... he just shakes his head.]
It's okay. [Is it?] You were only making use of the information given to you by Merriment. I can't blame you for this.
[More important...]
And even if you had voted thinking of me, and my god had been one of the five suspects this week— You wouldn't have been sending a living being to their death. As a machine, it's only right for me to be disposed of so human lives can be spared.
I will defer to your expertise in the topic, but there's no need to concern yourself with gifts. If you consider me your friend, then... I am happy to be your friend, as well.
[though... he seems to think about something before nodding,]
Um, I'm pretty talkative... so if there's anything you want to know, let me know and I can try to find it out for you. The gods have told me a lot of stuff. I'm trying to use it to figure out how to get the best possible ending for everyone.
Like - there can only be one winner, but depending on the god, they might be able to grant the wishes of people even not on their team, or at least give them a little something so that they didn't go through all this for nothing? Some gods are willing to let their followers switch in the final week to the winning team to make sure that they get their wish.
Oh! But the failsafe is that you can't all switch just for the sake of the numbers, because then the game would be considered void and they'd have to scrap it, and then start over with a new group of people. So I want to super avoid that as much as possible!
[ . . . ]
That kind of thing... but maybe you knew all that already.
I'm trying to figure out how to spread the information out more, or what to do with it...
I'm not trying to be dense or anything... but I have to keep working hard, just to be able to keep up with everyone else and pull my weight. I'm not cut out for any of this otherwise...
I'm a high school student, Connor-san... I'm a really talented performer, but I don't know anything about gods or murders. I can't protect anyone with my own two hands.
So if all I can do is share information, then I have to work extra hard, so I'm not just someone that makes people worry.
You don't have to be physically strong to make meaningful contributions. [Said matter-of-factly.] Take a look at the participants who have joined this competition. There are a number of them who fit the description of "a high school student," aren't there?
Do you believe they should be just as critical of themselves?

[SENRI... Connor's looking at him a little like he doesn't quite know what to expect from him today, but.]
There's nothing to apologize for. I understand you've been cursed.

[he frowns]

senri looks appropriately shocked for a second and then he says - ]
Please don't say something like that.
[he's already slowly shaking his head]
That's not....
You're not just some sacrifice for us.
no subject
But I am a machine. And machines exist to make human lives more convenient.
[SORRY, SENRI...]
Would you kill a human to save your car, for example? Of course not. It's no different with an android.
no subject
that said he's shaking his head]
You're not just an android. You're my friend.
no subject
frowns.]
Everyone keeps saying that. But it's objectively false.
no subject
[hE DOESN'T LIKE IT]
Should we exchange stuff too...?
no subject
[Matter-of-factly, like the hot pink bracelet around his wrist isn't 100% a friendship bracelet.]
Are you upset?
no subject
[he shakes his head]
I think we're friends... I want to have your back, and be able to trust you with mine.
no subject
Connor pauses, almost surprised, before his expression softens. Just a little.]
You can always rely on me. There's no need to exchange "stuff," as you've said.
no subject
[BECAUSE THEY'RE TOTALLY FRIENDS!!!!]
no subject
[of course they're friends? you fool. you peon.]
no subject
[HE'S DISTRACTED BY THAT FIRST and then the rest of the words seem to sink in - ]
.... oh! Well, sometimes it helps... Shiks and I exchanged pins because it felt meaningful, you know? But if we don't need to do that, I'm happy too.
no subject
[He's plastic! It's fantastic.]
I will defer to your expertise in the topic, but there's no need to concern yourself with gifts. If you consider me your friend, then... I am happy to be your friend, as well.

[he says this so confidently]
So... I'm sure you'll try to help us guide the game to the best possible conclusion, whatever that looks like.
no subject
Thank you.
[can't believe he's getting emotionally mugged by a teenager again, wtf.]
And in turn... I'll do my best not to betray that trust. You can count on me, always.

Hm.]
... As a matter of fact, I was unaware of a number of these details. You've certainly done your work in the time we've been here. Well done.
[Smiling, just a little. Senri is truly the MVP.]
Do you still doubt my assessment of you?
no subject
... I can always do better!
[one wouldn't think that senri's any kind of perfectionist, but he tends to get pretty dedicated to whatever he chooses as his craft]
no subject
Conor just gives him
a Look.]
That is your takeaway?
no subject
[and he offers up a small smile - ]
I'm not trying to be dense or anything... but I have to keep working hard, just to be able to keep up with everyone else and pull my weight. I'm not cut out for any of this otherwise...

[Senri, please love urself.]
no subject
.... I don't think so....?
[he frowns]
