So why... can't I find someone else who's acting? Why can't I see someone else's lies? I'm supposed to be the best at what I do - but even that.... I'm being outdone.
As you know, I was created to assist law enforcement officials. I exist for the sole purpose of bringing criminals to justice... including those who lie to avoid detection. Tonight, I failed to fulfill my purpose. A machine that can't fulfil its purpose is worthless.
[He doesn't sound terribly broken up about this... but that might just be because he's still talking in the same tone as always. Placid and polite. There's a point he's trying to make, however.]
If you're going to be harsh on yourself, you should at least distribute the blame evenly. We all failed to rise to the challenge today.
I mean... I guess I know what you're saying - but sometimes logic doesn't really make the feelings go away, you know? But... the comfort does help. I think if I put that together with the remembering it's not all on me... It'll resolve in a little bit.
