it says the following:

Don't be jealous, okay? It's just that he serenaded me, and how could I not make a super special appearance for something like that? It was suuuuper tiring, though, so it's not something I want to make a habit out of. Even for a god, moving between the realms of living and the dead is a little out of the ordinary, and I have a lot of work I need to conserve my energy for over on this end of things.

Hey, people over here have been asking me the same questions. I think there's been some kind of misunderstanding? I feel like everybody thinks I'm some kind of creep...but I only gave an honest answer to a question that everyone else asked me. :(

It's like I said before, I decided when they first had the idea to appoint a leader that I didn't want to play because I don't want to lead. I'm more of a helper than a trail blazer. I don't have any kind of vision and I'm not good at directing other people. Is that really so suspicious? Not everybody wants to have that kind of responsibility, right? Isn't that just normal...? ]

he squints, brings his face closer to the phone, and squints some more.]

My eyes aren't as good as they used to be. I can't read this.

[and he'll reach over, pinching his fingers so that he can zoom in, and then use his finger to move the image. he offers it over to shang....]

[since he's only seen the motions in action once, it's a struggle. he pinches and moves his fingers at the same time, causing the screen to go haywire. the image becomes so enlarged that only a single letter can be read at a time. there's another attempt, then one or five more before he manages to get a decent view.

it takes way longer than it should to read the letter, and he abruptly looks up with curious eyes.]

You were jealous of the doctor for giving a performance?

Oh - yeah! I was super jealous that he got to see Passhi! Last time she just sort of said hello to me, but it was barely anything.

[nosediving]

She still took the time to reply. A great god like herself must be busy with her regular duties. Doesn't that count for something?

[usogi]

It does - that's why I wrote the letter to her at all though, because it gave her the chance to say more.

But... I want to see if I can keep talking to the gods on the other side, and see what they can do.

[nosediving]

That's a good idea. Let's get these cookies made and see what result they yield.

Does your new god like cookies, Shang-san?

I left some desserts for my first offering, but it was difficult to tell if they were liked. Are you thinking about making extras for our current great gods?

[usogi]

We can, if they want any.

[ . . . except now he's curious??]

Your god takes care of you, right Shang-san...? I guess...

Well, I trust you. And I want to make sure that I don't vote for your god on accident when it comes to trials.

As your elder, I should be the one asking that question. Don't worry about me. How are you being treated?

Not great. I went to Cunning because Bambi was worried.... but if gods get to pick who they remove from the game if they get voted for, it doesn't look great for me.

I might have to go sooner than I thought.

[nosediving]

You don't get along with Great Cunning?

[usogi]

... I think he goes out of his way not to reach out to other people.

But the way that I play this game - it's all about trying to make connections.

So we butt heads a little....

[nosediving]

That doesn't necessarily mean he'll choose you out of his followers if he's wrongfully convicted. Has he forbidden you from making these connections?

[usogi]

No, but I think he can tell I'm not all that loyal to him either - our views don't really match up.

Though he did tell me... it sounds like that the followers have to match the ideals of their gods, or else the world that the god creates might not look as perfect.

[nosediving]

Then our choices affect more than just who takes leadership—the world that the winning god creates, too? I . . . Isn't this method too dependent on an outside party?

[usogi]

Well... that's how they decided to play it. So that we decide what the world should look like, based on how they appeal to us.

I get it but... well. It's pretty taxing.

[nosediving]

It is a heavy burden on someone as young as you. Will you defect to another great god next week?

[usogi]

Probably... I like Cunning, but if he gets voted for, he'd probably try to get rid of me first I think.

I have to look out for myself - but I did try to get along with him at least.

[nosediving]

Right. What matters is that an effort was made, and it's important that you take care of yourself here. People are really different: There will always be someone you don't get along with right away.

[usogi]

I guess so... It's still annoying - but I'll try to take care of it.

I'm just trying to find the other followers of gods that I don't know too...

[nosediving]

Once you do, what are you going to do with that knowledge?

[usogi]

I'm going to try to get people to work together.

But not the same way Yu-kun did. If all we do is try to switch to one god to end the game early, without caring about their world, the contest results will be voided and they'll have to do this all over again with another batch of people. I can't let that happen.

... but if I can convince people to try to follow one responsible god at the end, because they really believe in them, and not just for the numbers - I think I can help as many people get their wish as possible.
