That's not bad at all. I'm sure Cheri will agree - and... well, you'll need to talk to Piety about it. But heads up he already has an alliance with Cunning, in case that didn't make it back to you. Not sure if he'll want to double-dip.
[but he looks really happy? ah, he's relieved. without ray, he was scared that he'd have to do a lot on his own]
... I'm gonna put on a show next week, Ogou-san. Tama-chin said he'll give me a theater, so I'm gonna tell everyone everything that I know. About the game, about how we can win. Please help me try to get people to learn more from the gods.
I want as many people to win - as many people to end up on one team - as possible. I think Piety is the best choice... but they'll have to go talk to Piety in order to believe that themselves.
I have myself and... currently three more people who would be willing to switch to his team at the end of the game. When you're talking to people about final god choices, let me know if you agree with us.
Mm. Mizucchi's takin' point with Piety-han. I'll pass the info on to 'em before they go to see him.
[ that aside, he listens to senri's plan with the utmost attention, and nods to confirm his approval... well, for the most part. ]
. . . Piety-han, huh. It's gonna make me sound kinda bad, but he's one of the few I haven't really gotten the chance to chat with. Ya really think he's holdin' the winnin' ticket?
That's the thing... you can't join just because you want to be on the winning team, or else the world that they create might get corrupted.
So... I think you should go talk to Pippin more, Ogou-san. I like his world. It's one of balance, where all the gods work together. He's a pretty good mediator, and is really insightful in his own way. If he's backed by people who are more stern than he is, then I think that he could really do well.
But... yeah. I believe in Piety. Other people do too. If I can get enough people to agree... we can get a lot of wishes granted, and then some.
Ya really think the selfish murderin' fucks we haven't caught yet give a shit about the kinda world that'll be created as long as their wishes get granted? How are we gonna prevent 'em from takin' advantage of that?
I'm not going to announce my Piety plan. There are wishes I want granted more than others - so I'm going to try to convince those people, definitely. We just need a majority.
But if anyone has suggestions while we're all gathered, they're free to make them.
I don't need it anymore, or... I don't... need it as much.
[he's quiet and looks down at his phone, like he can't quite face majima]
I don't tell people this, because I'm sure it'll make me an even easier target but... Taka and I go to a pretty elite academy. If we graduate at the top of our class, we can get resources to pretty much anything we've ever dreamed. It'll take three years, but... I've already waited fifteen.
If we can do that then - I'm sure I'll be able to find my family, or even just... my mother.
I don't know. I thought I needed some blood relative to love me, like how everyone else I know gets one. I wanted that, like it'd fix or forgive all the mistakes I've ever made.
[ . . . ]
I can give that up though. I'm taking Ray-kun's wish instead, to make sure he wins.
[ fuck. he'd known from the start just how important the issue of family is to senri; he'd made it clear from the moment he genuinely thanked majima for playing house way back at the beginning.
he can't say he can relate. he came from an abusive household and left as soon as he was able to; the only family he acknowledges—aside from the dumb, silly family they've established here—are his oath brother and his sister. but he lost them the same day he lost his eye, and that's just what happens when you let yourself become vulnerable in that way, isn't it...?
...
he's lost in thought as he ruminates on his past, leaving senri without a reply. ]
[ . . . it's a familiar sentiment and senri just offers up a small smile]
... Tama-chin told me that, too. At the very beginning, he told me... expand my heart to see who else might become family.
[and senri pauses before he takes out a folded up photo from his uniform pocket]
And then... someone gave me this.
[he turns it around to show majima - it's a family photo, it's hard to call it anything else.
it's an idealized sort of family, with people who certainly didn't pose for the picture all together. but they're faces that majima would recognize from the game, other participants who senri's grown fond of over the course of the game, and some gods too. senri's in the middle, because of course he is, but right by him there's taka. sasuke. ray. ishikirimaru. majima. madoka. zoe. shiki.
justice, sincerity, and beauty are also all in the photo - though some may be masked based on whether majima's seen them remove their mask before, otherwise they remain covered.
three people in the photo are gone now but - ]
... I'm pretty proud of the one I made for myself, here.
[ to majima's eye, the only mystery figure in the photo is justice. everyone else is clear as day, and wow, they really do all look like one big weird family, even if he's a little weirded out to see his likeness so perfectly shown in a picture he obviously didn't take—
... it takes his breath away, honestly, in a good way. ]
[senri lets it sit on the counter in front of him and he traces the faces of the people in it.]
I found it in my pocket and... ahh, I cried so hard I worried a bunch of people. Taka got so scared that I was hurt. I ran to all the gods to give them big hugs and everything... I think I'm a little cried out right now, luckily.
[even though he gets a little choked up as he lingers on ray and zoe in the photo]
... it hurts a lot, to look at it. To know what I'm going to lose soon.
But I'm grateful if it means... that I got to have it at all.
[senri can't quite bring himself to look up - and he blinks furiously as if that'll manage to get the moisture in his eye to disappear. he reaches up to try to brush it away anyway.
it's hard to admit, sometimes. because it's so hard to be here. it's so hard to suffer through every week but.
he nods.
because he doesn't know what he'd do, if he didn't find this odd place where people still managed to care about him, against all odds]
