[it's been a bad day.

it's all around been a bad day - and senri is tired. he went to the beauty parlor specifically for the sake of putting on foundation and cover-up to try to even out his flushed face, but time has been the only remedy for his red eyes. he's sitting in the kitchen and slowly eating a riceball with one hand, seemingly spacing out

and when yu enters, he'll look up - and offer a weak but sincere smile]

... rough day, huh? Would you mind entertaining me for a second?

[covenantal]

Ah...

[ Yu remembers this boy. He'd run into the courtyard, yelling that girl's name...

His brow furrows slightly, touched with concern, but he'll smile in return nevertheless and wander over. ]

Of course. I don't mind at all. What can I do for you?

[usogi]

It's kind of been a rough day - so I think I'd like it if I could challenge myself and see if I can get someone to give me a smile. For real, not out of pity.

[he's been getting a lot of pity smiles, a lot of kid gloves. he doesn't really like it, but he'll tilt his head like he didn't have to lose a friend today.

he starts to pick up momentum, little by little, drawn by the prospect of performing]

week 1, saturday

[ You know, honestly?

Despite -- no, because of everything that happened today, Senri is one of the very first people Yu will seek out. It's not immediately after the trial; he thinks ... he ows Senri some space.

But Yu will come find him eventually—in the kitchen. And even though he was looking for Senri, he'll still pause, arrested, his breath stuck in his throat.

He thinks of the other boy's smile, and the rose offered so simply and with such sincerity-- and his heart will beat again. Yu will move into the kitchen. ]

Nito-san. [ softly. ] If you've got a moment... I'd like if we could talk.

[usogi]

[Senri's making hot chocolate.

he's not really paying attention to anyone who might be milling about, and when he hears someone speak to him, he pauses and glances over his shoulder. his expression is tired - but he offers up a smile.]

Uh-huh.

But if it's another apology, you better keep it. I only accept one per mistake and then I insist we move on.

And you have to accept mine, because even though I was mad, I didn't need to do that to you.

[and then he's gonna go into the cabinets to get another mug]

[ Yu is quiet, blinking-- silenced. Not until Senri goes to get another mug does he shift, a soft kind of wonder touching his expression.

Finally he'll smile, a real smile that touches his eyes, and wander over to the other boy. ]

Actually, I had something I wanted to give you.

[ After the trial -- this, actually, was the first thing he did, when he had a moment alone.

From a pocket in his jacket he'll draw out a little black cat -- an origami black cat. It's simple and geometric, and he didn't get the greatest look at Mr. Mew during the trial, but -- for what it is, it's just close enough of an approximation to be recognizable for what it is.

A gift. He'll set the little origami Mr. Mew on the counter. ]

week 2, friday

[ This time, Yu finds Senri.

It would have been hard not to see him, smiling through the pain, offering each host god a hug--

Senri is ... a very good person, Yu thinks.

So Yu will find him later, after some time has passed, wandering the temple. ]

Nito-san?

[ gently. ]

[Senri is trying to get his steps in -

no, he's actually just pretty lost. he looks like he's trying to puzzle something out, expression troubled, but not quite finding the answer that he wants. when someone calls out to him, he looks up

and offers a weak smile]

Gross.

[ Yu pauses, blinking--

--and then sighs out, with an awfully gentle smile on his face. ]

Senri.

[ He'll take a step closer, and the tilt of his head is -- almost shy. But he's achingly sincere when he offers: ]

... would you like a hug, Senri?

week 2, saturday

[ It takes him a while to even track Senri down. This doesn't really surprise him; after the huge commotion of the trial... Yu's sure he had a lot to sort out.

But there's a tug on his heart that just won't lift until he finally spots that head of orange hair while he's wandering through the east wing. ]

Senri...!

[ It's not loud, just ... there's a sense of immediacy to the way he says the other boy's name, and he'll trot over. The look on his face will be searching, unsure. ]

I'm glad I caught up with you. ... would you like some company? [ a faint, sad smile. ]

[usogi]

[he's just hanging out on a swingset, thinking about all the families that he saw milling about. it's dark now, so there's less people to see.

he looks up at the call of his name and - mirrors yu's smile.]

Sure.

Want me to push you?

[ - on the swingset]

[ That wins a laugh, and Yu will shake his head. He'll sit in the swing next to Senri, gripping the chains with both hands. ]

I'd rather sit by your side. [ Glances at him with muted fondness. ] But I don't mind, if you'd like to.

week 3, tuesday

[breathes in.

apparently taking cue from disorder and cunning, senri and yu are going on a date. and now they're working on date rules, senri can easily link their arms together, holding onto yu.

he's a little cold.

I went on a date with Sasuke-kun yesterday, so I'm hoping this'll be even more fun than that - but he's gloomy, so the bar's pretty low, you know?

[ He's wORRIED ABOUT IT

Honestly Yu is happy to link arms with his friend -- tonight, his date -- but he looks considering when he hears that. ]

Is that so...

[ Musing. ]

You're lucky. [ A grin sideways at him, and a wink? Sorry he's like this. ] But I hope I can show you a good time. Is there anything you want to try you haven't done yet?

.... please don't misunderstand my relationship with Sasuke-kun....

[he sounds withered but it was actually a perfectly nice date, shut up senri

Let's do a ride! I got food with him before we went to do other things, so we didn't get to do a lot of the rides.

WEEK THREE: FRIDAY

[ Naturally, after the announcement, no one is particularly happy. Yu among them, of course, but he still goes looking for his friends, especially those he's a little worried about.

Senri would be on that list.

It's a piece of luck, and almost funny, that Yu finds Senri in the first place he checks -- the costume hall. It's not a shock to see Senri digging through the blankets. Poor guy. ]

Senri...

[ Yu will. Come on over, watching him with some sympathy. ]

... do you think a cup of cocoa would help?

[ his treat! ]

F-For a little bit.

[he answers that easily enough, with a sheepish smile even as his fingers dig into the closest piece of fleece that he laid eyes on]

Is - that an offer?

[forgive him, he's shivering pretty bad still.]

Of course. Maybe a warm stew, too.

[ There's sympathy in him, and he'll pick up a blanket to wrap around Senri's shoulders, careful not to come close to touching his skin. ]

... someone had it out for you this week ... who did you make angry this time? [ he's joking, but.

WEEK FOUR: FRIDAY

[ He doesn't like how long it takes him to find Senri. He'd really wanted to find the other boy on Thursday, and simply ran out of time before curfew. So come Friday, he's a man with a mission --

but he doesn't find Senri after the announcement, and isn't able to look again till hours later.

At least this time he's a little more successful, catching Senri in the hallways of the first floor. Relief and guilt flood him in equal measure. ]

Senri!

[ his eye.

Yu tries not to fuss. Instead he just trots over to his friend. ]

... got a little time to spare?

[ If Senri's got an eye (haha an eye) for detail, he may notice Yu seems a little thinner. But he's unhurt, at least. ]

There you are - have you seen Sasuke?

senri is going to fucking pretend as though there's nothing wrong with his eye because obviously there isn't??]

Do you know who the new Love is? And did Estelle-chan ever give you her alignment? [though he pauses] Sorry if that's... really soon but - I really need to get these numbers figured out, before trial.

yu is extremely tired but calm. an improvement! probably. ]

No. I'm as surprised as anyone, and I'm sure the other followers are, too. We'll try and find out, though. And no -- she never told me, though I'd guess Sincerity, if I had to pick.
